Robert,
Are there PCPE patches available to purchase. If so, I would like to buy (4) four. You know us Harley riders like patches on our vest!
Bob, any excuse for a ride.

I’m willing to lead Legs 73 and 74, Boston to Hartford, which can be done the same day (wow, what a haul, maybe 125 miles).
Robert: You’re on! I’ve listed you as lead rider. Pop on over the the rider forum and post your contact information and the routes you plan to take in forums 73 and 74. Welcome aboard!
Yo George, Thanks for your kind comments. I couldn’t hardly let you get away with riding this thing and me not, could I? You were in fact though how I found out about it, by mentioning it on FB. I was thinking seriously about checking into it when Peterson got hold of me. Happy to do it, it should be fun — I’m always up for a trip to Las Vegas.
Hey, Don, glad to see you here! (Folks, Don runs the st-riders.net forum, and is one of the most knowledgeable I-net folks you’ll ever know. Keep him on a short leash for next year.
)
I agree about the octopus comment, Don.
George
Folks, I’m happy to pick up the package in Austin on March 30 but it’s NOT gonna take me 8 days to get to Dallas, Santa Fe, and Phoenix. I have a dentist appointment on April 3 in Kingman so plan to get home on April 2, then ride down to Phoenix to meet DaveyB on the 7th as scheduled.
I don’t think there is anyone else signed up between Cedric (San Antonio to Austin) and DaveyB (Phoenix to San Diego) so don’t anticipate this would cause a problem for anyone.
Let me know.
George
George,
I plan on traveling from Beaumont to San Antonio on tuesday the 27th. A brief stop at the Cowboy Harley dealer there, then on to Austin that evening. I will try to deliver a letter to the Governor’s office on wendsday the 28th. So if you want, you can meet me there then or I can wait for you on the 30th. I’m very flexible, I will be staying with my daughter in Austin.
OK, I’ve got the kitchen pass from SWMBO, registered for the ride, bought the T-shirt and am volunteering to lead legs 19 and 20 (Carson City – Las Vegas – Laughlin. Do I post that on the forum, on FB, or what? So far, following this is like figuring out an octopus, but I’m trying!
Don. Thanks for everything! Yes, I’ve put too much information here. Can you tell that I spent some time in the State Department and started life as a history major?:-) George Catt has already dinged me for this and next year will be much better. Yes, please go to the rider forum [http://prostatecancerponyexpress.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=5603395] create an account and do the following: do a short introduction in the forum called “Introductions.” Then, scroll down to the legs you will lead and enter your contact information and the route you plan to ride. You get to pick the route. If you have problems posting the info, let me know. I promise to make this easier! Warm regards, Robert aka Rider #1.
Hi George:
Thanks very much!
Allez!
Just did a “bump” at advrider.com and st-owners.com. Also sent a request to some ST members who are also Blue Knights. Could help. Fingers crossed for more riders.
As to “handles”: I’ve always encouraged folks to use their real names on the sites (mostly ’cause of my aged memory, tuff to keep ONE name straight, let alone two.
)
Hi George:
Thanks for the input. I’ve actually removed the page but somehow search engines still find it. I’m working on this issue.
We’re working on getting the rider information – name, phone number, and email – on the page for each leg. Many of us use “handles” instead of our names, and this is causing us a huge problem in understanding who is who!
We’re posting in more forums, Facebook, and Twitter to spread the word about the ride. We’ve contacted all the Harley dealers along the route and we’ll be doing the same with LinkedIn motorcycling groups.
Thanks for the input. I look forward to meeting you in San Diego.
Robert et al, I’m still having issues with the web site. To me, the most important items on here are the overall map, the segment and schedule page, and this forum. There are still a few links which don’t work at all, they should be deleted.
On the per-leg pages, too many choices, only need one per leg. Most important info there are rider names, phone numbers, and dates.
I’m committed to ride between Austin, TX and San Diego, CA. Sure hope a bunch more folks sign up for those legs. I’m completely willing to hand off and take it back numerous times over that distance. I’ve done it before.
Robert,
I would be happy to ride / lead ride the Columbus, OH to Pittsburgh, PA to Harrisburg, PA legs. I live in the Pittsburgh area, so I’m about half way between Columbus and Harrisburg.
John
John: Thanks for your generous offer. I’ve sent an email with coordination information. Warm regards, Robert
Robert, no problem, I’m glad to help if I can. Any excuse to… GO RIDE!!!!
I’ve added a link to this site at advrider.com, my-mc.com, and mtf.com. Given this thing is supposed to start in early March, I’m not seeing much activity here. Good luck.
George: Thank you very much for your support. Prostate cancer isn’t the most appealing cause, particularly guys. But more than 34,000 of us die from prostate cancer every year and it’s really important to “play it forward” for guys who don’t yet know they have the disease. Warm regards, Robert
